You can hear the clip clop of his big Belgian feet as he goes flying by, shaking the ground, head held high. His high stepping action is just right for that fancy wagon and team he was born to be a part of. Feet and feathers flying as they march in time, dressed in their Sunday best, polished and gleaming. The rattle of the rigging and creak of the wheels are what his dreams are made of, with a soft background roar of cheers from the crowd.

Rayvin has spent many hours watching the draft horses at the Calgary Stampede, year after year. The sights, sounds, and smells have a way of burrowing into your memories and nesting like a cozy little familiar place you want to keep going back to. Something about the gentle giants just hits a different note compared to other types of horses. Moose came from those many moments and watching the young stallions starting to find the balance between gangly long legs and big bodies and that strength and power of adulthood. It’s a moment of transformation that holds such a fascinating dichotomy. Glimmers of the majestic stallion he will become hindered by a body growing too fast for him to quite get a grasp of yet.
