Bigger, “Upsized” Windswept Highland by Minkewicz
Gorgeous Red Roan Tobiano on this fresh new “bigger” version of the extremely popular and rare “Fergus” resin! Another departure from my usual style - my very first roan featuring “corn spots” with added “hair by hair” details! Due to the extensive time commitment, I rarely have time to do this kind of technique, but I really wanted to push myself on this batch of resins. I love how this turned out - especially the darker spots on the roaning that are random, realistic, not overdone, and blend in nicely with the coat color. Hewie has one blue eye for contrast, and lovely lighter pangare shading around his muzzle and flanks.
If I was showing him, I would enter him in other pony as a Cob cross! There are miniature Vanners - pony sized - and in the United States they were imported and are being crossed with Miniature Horses and smaller Shetland ponies to try and create a “Mini Vanner”. The first generation from this cross are stocky, but lack the extensive feather. He could be a mix of Shetland, Vanner, and possibly Haflinger, with the roan and pinto genes both being found in Minis and Vanners.
His auction ends about the same time as the Artisan’s Gallery ends on Friday, so you will have many hours on Friday night to view him in person, before bidding. Not attending Breyerfest? Please check out the videos of him on my Instagram page @ studio_sommer
The videos and photos can’t really capture the details of him in person, but if you bid and win, but are not attending Breyerfest in person, I will ship him to you, possibly directly from Lexington (if I have the supplies to do so) or I will return to Arizona and ship him to you about a week later.
There is a 10% “cash and carry” discount off the total final bid, if you can pay cash in Kentucky, and walk off with him at the event.
TRADES? While no trades are needed at this time, I will make an exception if you have already purchased a “blank” Hewie resin. I will credit $350 towards an unpainted blank “Hewie” and this may be applied as a down payment.
Time Pays: Payment in full is preferred. Time pays are available, but ONLY if you have all “green lights” and no “red lights” on any hobby boards. A non refundable deposit of $500 is required and payments would need to be totally completed by Dec 31, 2026. There are no refunds on time payments; please do not bid if you are unsure you can pay off the resin in that time frame. Payment by PayPal Goods & Services is also available, which may be able to offer long term financing.
Item may be picked up by buyer in-person in Lexington, KY on Saturday night before the close of the Artisan's Gallery.
If buyer is bidding from home, and not at Breyerfest, resin will be sent fully insured via USPS at the earliest possible date after the event, or shipped after payment in full, if there is a time payment arrangement. Sorry, no International shipping available at this time on OOAK items above $500 value, due to Insurance / Liability / Tarriff issues. Exceptions to International shipping may be made for shipping to Canada, for approved buyers with verified feedback, as I have thankfully had success shipping there recently. Please check before bidding.
